Denis P. Rischard is the Founder, President and Managing Attorney of Rischard & Carsey, PLLC and the Oklahoma Disability and Elder Law Advocates, LLC (ODELA). With almost 30 years of extensive experience in various types of civil trial work, including cases across the country involving complex medical and economical issues, Mr. Rischard maintains a civil litigation practice that encompasses business disputes, insurance and corporate defense, catastrophic accidental injuries, domestic matters, and a variety of other disputes.
Mr. Rischard has undertaken extensive study to develop a proficiency in the area of Elder Law. As a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and Elder Counsel, Mr. Rischard has developed a network of resources that enables him to provide cutting edge legal services to Seniors and those with Special Needs by helping them plan for their long term care utilizing Congressionally-authorized planning techniques to maintain eligibility for government benefits while protecting their hard-earned assets from devastating long-term care expenses.
Mr. Rischard is a frequent seminar speaker on elder and special needs planning topics, including the topic of assessing the risk of growing old, addressing long-term care and asset protection planning for the ever-growing elder population as well as those with special needs. In addition to speaking to groups of seniors, he also addresses both acute and long-term health care providers, general work force populations, financial planners and accountants and other sources whose patients, clients or loved ones may need the services of a competent elder law attorney.
Mr. Rischard received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame (B.B.A., 1983) and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma (J.D., 1986). He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association as well as other local bar and professional organizations and is admitted to practice before all federal and state courts in Oklahoma, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and various federal courts in other states. He has tried multiple jury and non-jury cases and has served as a barrister in the American Inn of Courts. Mr. Rischard has received an AV (highest) rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Over his career, Mr. Rischard has served in various leadership and supporting roles of various professional organizations, including the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). He has authored a number of professional articles and has presented various seminar topics across the country and in Oklahoma on issues addressing trial practice and health care law.
Mr. Rischard and his wife of 28 years, Susie, have nine children, and live in Oklahoma City where they are actively involved in the parish of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church and their children’s schools, the Catholic School of St. Eugene’s and Mt. St. Mary’s Catholic High School.
